League of Women Voters hosting area event in February

Area residents will have the opportunity to speak with local city and school officials during a town-hall meeting in January.

The League of Women Voters is sponsoring the event, along with the Cape Girardeau and Jackson area chambers of commerce.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Cape Girardeau Public Library.

Scheduled to speak and answer questions at the meeting are Cape Girardeau Mayor Harry Rediger, Jackson Mayor Dwain Hahs, Cape Girardeau School District superintendent James Welker and Jackson School District superintendent John Link.
