State and local officials will assess "Operation Steel Cure II" at Thursday night's meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cape Girardeau County.

Taking part in the panel discussion will be: M/Sgt. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. at Holiday Inn; those who wish may gather at 5:30 p.m. for an order-from-the-menu dinner.

Martha Vandivort, who is in charge of the program, noted that more than 2,000 civilian and military personnel were involved in the emergency exercise.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization aimed at encouraging informed citizen participation in government at all levels. Membership is open to all citizens, and visitors are welcome at all meetings.
