Several state legislators will discuss their views on welfare reform and other topics during a public forum Friday at Southeast Missouri State University.
The forum will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Missouriana room of University Center. It is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Social Workers and Southeast's social work department.
Confirmed speakers are Rep. Jim Graham of the 106th District, Rep. Patrick Naeger of the 155th District, Rep. Joe Heckemeyer of the 160th District and Sen. Jerry T. Howard of the 25th District. Other legislators may also participate.
The primary subject of the forum is welfare reform and its possible effects on Missourians, but speakers also will address other topics they believe will be important in the 1996 legislative session, said organizer Shirley Bentley. The forum will conclude with a questions and answers.
