Laughter is in order at Southeast Missouri State University Saturday night as "Comedy Night at the Show Me Center" will be held as part of campus Family Weekend festivities.
The evening of entertainment begins at 8 p.m.
Joe Marlotti, a University of Missouri graduate now on the midwestern comedy circuit, will be master of ceremonies for the evening. Other stand-up comics on the bill are Buzz Sutherland and Mary Rowles.
Tickets for Comedy Night are $3 for floor seats and $2 for other seats. The price includes snacks (popcorn and pretzels). A cash bar will be provided and several Show Me Center concession stands will be open.
Tickets are on sale at the Show Me Center. They can also be purchased by calling 651-5000 and charging them on Mastercard, Visa or American Express.
Comedy Night is being sponsored by the university's Student Activities Council and the Family Weekend Committee.
Marlotti, a self-admitted class clown in high school, began putting together a comedy routine with the encouragement of fraternity brothers at the University of Missouri. His initial appearances at open-mike nights at the Funny Bone in St. Louis propelled onto the comedy tour of clubs and college campuses.
He has appeared on "Star Search" and recently was the master of ceremonies for a national "Showtime" taping.
