A heat lamp started a small fire a Jackson business Saturday.
The Jackson Fire Department responded to the fire at Crader Tire and Retread Service on Birk Lane at about 2:25 p.m., according to public information officer Steve Baugh. The lamp, which was used to keep tire polish dry, had ignited some wood in a 4-by-8-foot room where the polish was kept.
Baugh said the fire was put out within 15 minutes and caused smoke damage in the room.
