More than 500 volunteers are expected to participate in the Land Between The Lakes (LBL) Shoreline Hike Oct. 19. The annual hike is a public effort to clean up the Kentucky Lake shoreline around LBL.

Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at three sites Fenton Lake Access Area near the Kentucky Lake Bridge; Hillman Ferry in the northern portion of LBL; and at Piney Campground, located in the southern portion of LBL.

They will be ferried up and down the lake from these points.

Participants in the lake clean up will each receive a free one-day pass to all LBL facilities, and free camping passes for Oct. 18-19, says Laura Vanarsdel, spokespersons for the Land Between the Lakes Association. The clean us sponsored by the association and the Kentucky Lake Environmental Awareness Network.
