A lack of a quorum for the Cape Girardeau City Council caused cancellation of Tuesday night's study and regular session meetings.
Only two people from the seven-member council, John Voss and Loretta Schneider, were able to attend.
The city clerk sent notice of the cancellation of the 5 and 7 p.m. meetings late Tuesday afternoon.
Council meetings are normally held the first and third Monday of each month, but the second January meeting was postponed to Tuesday because the federal holiday for birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday.
Members of the council who attended Tuesday opened the floor for public comment at 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday in lieu of the meetings.
Votes on the allocation of casino revenue that were set for Tuesday are planned to for first February meeting of the council.
