BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, Mo. -- The youngest child of Martin Luther King Jr. says her father's legacy is on the line in the wake of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Bernice King spoke Tuesday to students at Riverview Gardens High School, just a few miles from where a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer shot and killed Brown on Aug. 9. The case remains under investigation by a grand jury and the Justice Department.

King told about 30 students in the high school library that much of her concern is centered on the violence that may return as the legal process moves ahead.
