Students from Franklin, Jefferson and Clippard elementary schools and Cape Girardeau's Central Middle School recently participated in a poster contest to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Posters depicted the theme "Strength in Our Differences" and were judged by Cape Girardeau School District faculty. Winning designs will be sent to a statewide competition sponsored by the Missouri National Education Association.
Three winners at the state level will be chosen from each grade level. First place winners will receive a $100 savings bond, second place will receive a $75 savings bond and third place will receive a $50 savings bond. All other poster contestants at the state level will receive a certificate of participation.
