Sen. Peter Kinder, R-Cape Girardeau, of the 27th Senatorial District, is recipient of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce's Spirit of Enterprise Award.
Kinder accepted the award recently during the chamber's 23rd annual Legislative Action Seminar at Lake of the Ozarks.
"Senator Kinder is very deserving of the Spirit of Enterprise Award, for his endorsement of regulator reform measures and is consistently high pro-business rating on chamber-supported issues," said Joe Frappier, Missouri Chamber of Commerce president, who presented the award. Also present at the presentation was Joe Birk, assistant general counsel, Union Electric, St. Louis, and chairman of the Missouri Chamber's Public Affairs Council.
The award was established in 1990 to recognize legislators who exemplify the spirit of free enterprise and who have consistently shown efforts to protect the nation's free enterprise system.
Kinder, who is associate publisher of the Southeast Missourian newspaper, was elected to the Missouri Senate in 1992.
