KENNETT, Mo. -- Kennett Police are currently searching for a local man who allegedly shot a Kennett resident on Saturday, according to a story in the Daily Dunklin Democrat. Chief of police Barry Tate said the incident occurred at 4:39 p.m. Saturday and an unnamed individual immediately informed 911 of the crime. Tate added that as Kennett police arrived on the scene at the 400 Block of Beaton Street, they observed Roderick Wheeler, 30, wounded in the back. Wheeler is in stable condition at a St. Louis hospital, Tate said. The suspect in the shooting, Aaron Meadows, 22, of Kennett, left on foot prior to the arrival of Kennett police, Tate said. Meadows is described as a black man, anouy 5 foot 9 inches tall and 185 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
