Grammy-winning singer and Kennett, Mo., native Sheryl Crow recently launched a new western/folk inspired casual denim clothing line dubbed Bootheel Trading Co. (BTC).
"I've always been kind of a jeans girl," Crow said.
The first line of products will be made up of 27 pieces that have been developed by Crow's personal stylist and inspired by pieces from Crow's wardrobe.
According to SherylCrow.com, the line is similar to what you would catch Crow wearing on a "casual day out or even while rocking out with her guitar at a concert."
"The Bootheel Trading Company came out of Sheryl's lifetime experiences here in Kennett and Southeast Missouri," said Bernice Crow, Sheryl's mother. "The collection is inspired by the kind of clothes she loves to wear — stylish jeans and feminine tops with a little hint of western cowgirl."
The fall collection has jeans in a variety of vintage washes, all boasting a flattering, as well as comfortable, easy fit, according to the website. The jeans come in styles with names like Missouri, Nashville, Georgia, Memphis and even Kennett. The style name can be found on a patch on the inside on the front, left hip. All denim is washed with organic enzymes and red stones.
During October, 10 percent of the proceeds from the purchase of any item from the BTC collection will be donated to Revlon/UCLA Breast Center and the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program.
The collection is available at Dillard's department stores and in Kennett at Dollins'.
BTC also does a small part for the environment by using labeling that has been made from sustainable or recyclable materials.
