The Southeast Missouri Kennel Club, Inc., is holding a Canine Good Citizen Program Friday at 7 p.m.

The Canine Good Citizen Program was established by the kennel club to educate dog owners on the benefits of a well-behaved pet. This program is intended to help dogs and their owners establish a closer bond.

Dogs participating in the program will complete a 10-step process to get the title: "Canine Good Citizen."

The fee is $10 and is open to both purebred dogs and mixed breeds.

Owners must present proof of vaccinations. For more information, please contact coordinator Jan Miller at 651-3439.

The event is in conjunction with the annual dog show, which will be held this weekend from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 15 and 16 at the A.C. Brase Arena Building.
