Police said the woman was driving Wednesday during rush hour in midtown Kansas City when a car pulled beside her and fired shots into her car. The victim was 32-year-old Jennifer Jones of Kansas City, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a woman was driving the suspect vehicle, described as a maroon SUV with tinted windows and no tags.

The death was the seventh homicide in Kansas City since Monday and the third Wednesday.
