The Alpha Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi will host a regional conference Saturday at Southeast Missouri State University.
The conference will be held in the University Center at 9 a.m.
Members from 19 chapters in seven states have been invited to the conference, which is planned around a theme of "Celebrating Diversity."
Neyland Clark, superintendent of Cape Girardeau public schools, will be keynote speaker. Also speaking will be Earnestine Blakley, the 1992 Missouri State Teacher of the Year.
Student teachers from Wales will serve as special luncheon guests. Conference chairman is Sandra Renegar, assistant professor of elementary and special education.
Kappa Delta Pi is an international education honorary that includes students in the top 10 percent of the teacher education program. Membership in Kappa Delta Pi is by invitation only, and students must meet requirements concerning minimum grade average and hours completed. Kappa Delta Pi has 63,000 members representing educators from the United States, Australia, England and Canada.
