KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man was shot to death Sunday after allegedly pointing a pistol at two officers, police said.
The Kansas City man was identified Monday as Clifton Isaac, 41. The officers' names were not released.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The police department gave this account:
A woman at the residence told officers the man who had caused the disturbance had left. As officers were about to leave the scene, a car drove alongside the patrol car and the driver pointed a handgun at the officers.
The officers fired several shots at the man, wounding him; he died at a hospital.
Police said the man might have been involved in the earlier disturbance.
The officers were placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation.
