KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Kansas City firefighters are investigating a two-alarm blaze that destroyed a bar and grill that had been closed but was being renovated.
The Kansas City Star reported on its Web site that the fire at the old Sideline Bar & Grill was first reported about 4 a.m. Tuesday. Witnesses reported seeing flames from several blocks away. Smoke filled the area.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the bar had been closed about a year but had electricity. The cause is not known.
Firefighters worked at the scene for nearly two hours -- about an hour of it putting out hot spots.
