JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jury selection began Monday for one of two men accused in the beating death of an Illinois man.
Jessie Bell, 35, of Anna, Illinois, is charged with first-degree murder in the April 2014 beating death of James H. "Jimmy" Morrison, 46, of Anna.
Bell is accused of striking Morrison in the head with his fists, and Travis Turner, 26, of Dongola, Illinois, is accused of hitting him in the head with a piece of lumber.
Morrison was found April 12 on Douglas Street in Anna and pronounced dead later at Union County Hospital. Both defendants have pleaded not guilty.
The trial is expected to start Wednesday.
