Fourth of July celebrations will be held in a number of Southern Illinois communities Tuesday, including Cairo, Tamms, McClure, Grand Chain, Anna and Vienna.

Activities get under way during the morning at each of the sites, with fireworks displays ranging from dusk to 9:30 p.m.

Tamms: Activities start during the morning and will include food, soft drinks, entertainment, including local talent, gospel music and country. The talent show will be held during the day and a fireworks display will be held at dusk.

Cairo: The Cairo celebration will be held at the Cairo Airport, sponsored by the Jaycees. Activities start in the morning, with food and soft drinks. The fireworks display is scheduled at dusk.

Grand Chain: Children's games, food and entertainment will be held during the day, with a fireworks display at dusk.

Anna: Anna will hold its traditional Fourth of July celebration at the Union County Fairgrounds. Food and soft drinks will be available during the day. The Great Boars of Fire will prepare barbecue. The "Ropin' the Road Traveling Show," will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring live music and Karaoke. The fireworks display, sponsored by the Anna and Jonesboro police departments, will be conducted at 9:30 p.m.

Vienna: Activities start at the Vienna Ballpark in the morning. A fireworks display will be held at dusk.

McClure: The McClure American Legion Post 900 will hold a July 4 picnic, open to the public. Activities start at 10 a.m., with barbecue, games and music. The fireworks display is scheduled at about dusk.
