JACKSON, Mo. -- A judge refused to lower a $1 million bond against a 23-year-old man charged with abducting and sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl.
Samuel Farrow Jr. of Jackson appeared in court Wednesday before Associate Circuit Judge Michael Bullerdieck.
Farrow has been charged with 13 criminal violations for the Nov. 2 abduction of a girl through the bedroom window of the trailer home where she lived with her family in Scott City, Mo.
Farrow continues to undergo a mental evaluation through the Missouri Department of Mental Health by request of Cape Girardeau County prosecutor Morley Swingle. The purpose of the examination is to determine whether Farrow can assist in his own defense in court and if he was mentally fit at the time of the crimes.
The examination, which was supposed to be carried out within 30 days, was granted an additional 60 days by request of the mental examiners, said defense attorney Al Lowes.
