Illinois State Police said Misty Brim, 19, was driving too fast on Highway 51 at 8:50 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a car driven by David Szoke, 47, of Carbondale.
Brim was taken to Union County Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Szoke wasn't injured.
