Citing the lack of a national brand name, owner Terry Bozzay said Jimmi's Restaurant and Bar at 2406 William St. in Cape Girardeau has closed.

"What we had was a great location and didn't capitalize on that," Bozzay said. "If we had been a national franchise and had that name on our sign we may have been successful."

Bozzay said the restaurant closed Saturday night. He had owned it since late 2007.

"And I'd like to apologize to the customers who really wanted to see Jimmi's succeed and to Bob Camp and his band who played every Wednesday night for us," Bozzay said. "They're a really good band, and I hope people to listen to them in other venues they play."

Bozzay said he plans to continue managing property he owns throughout Missouri.
