A search for Jacque Waller and two events to commemorate four months since her disappearance are planned for Saturday.
Jacque Waller has been missing since June 1, and prosecutors have named her estranged husband Clay Waller as a suspect. Authorities say Clay Waller was the last person to see Jacque Waller before she disappeared from the Jackson home where Clay Waller was staying.
The search is being organized by Bobby Sherrill of Jackson, who is a childhood friend of Jacque Waller. Sherrill has been working to organize and lead searches with the CUE Center for Missing Persons and its founder, Monica Caison, since she left the area after previously organizing searches for Waller. Although searches were previously said to be suspended due to hunting season, Sherill said the four locations totaling around 200 acres that will be searched are near the Jackson city limits and are at the direction of law enforcement who are investigating the case. He said safety precautions will be taken.
According to Sherrill, cadaver dogs will be used in the search. Volunteers on foot and ATVs are needed, as are donations of food and water. Anyone interested in participating in the search can meet at Hardees in Jackson at 8 a.m. Saturday. To donate food or water, call Sherrill at 979-0600.
A vigil will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo. Jacque Waller graduated from the college in 1992. According to Jacque Waller's family spokeswoman, Laura Helbig, the vigil will include prayer and music.
Friends of Jacque Waller will hold a second vigil at 7 p.m. Saturday outside Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield on Siemers Drive in Cape Girardeau, where Waller worked.
