A Jackson woman was hit by a car Tuesday while she was chasing after her dog.
The woman was walking her dog near Oak Street and East Lane about 6 p.m., when the dog broke free and ran into the road.
As she chased after her pet, a vehicle swerved to miss the dog but hit the woman, Jackson police public information officer Rodney Barnes said.
Barnes said she was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Jackson police could not release more information about collision until the report is finished, including the name of the woman and the name of the car’s driver.
