Jackson residents will be able to dispose of oversized items and old appliances during the annual Clean-up/Fix-up week, city officials announced. During the week of July 13 to July 17, residents will be able to add extra material they wish to dispose during to their regular trash pickup. The three-bag limit will not be enforced. All items placed at the curb will be collected, except for yard waste and hazardous materials including motor oil and tires. Paint cans must be dried out or have a secure lid. The city will take one old appliance at no charge and additional appliance for $10 each. Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must be gas-free and have the compressors removed. For more information, call the Jackson Public Works Department at 243-300 or the Sanitation Department at 243-2333.
