JACKSON - A 13-year old Jackson youth was seriously injured Wednesday evening when she was struck while riding a bicycle on Route W, about a half mile west of Highway 177.

Cassandra Hope was riding her bicycle west when a car driven by Carol Shelton, 29, of Jackson, came up behind her. Shelton attempted to pass the bicyclist, but Hope made a left turn in front of the car and was struck.

Hope was taken to Southeast Hospital. The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m.

In another accident, at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, two Marble Hill residents were taken to Southeast Hospital with minor injuries.

Roger Bass, 27, attempted to make a left turn on Highway 34 in Bollinger County when a car driven by Linda Reynolds, 32, started to pass and struck the left front side of Bass' vehicle.

Both drivers had minor injuries.

Reynolds was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license.
