JACKSON -- Students at South Elementary and North Elementary schools will compete next week in a Christmas canned food drive.

The food will be donated to the Ministerial Alliance.

"It's fun to have a friendly competition," said Debbie Lusk, a teacher at South Elementary.

A note has been sent home to the parents of children at both schools.

Lusk's "gifted" students made a train to put the school's cans in.

She said the winning school won't win anything other than the honor of giving the most food to those who need it.
