A Jackson High School student may get an unexpected lesson in the letter of the law after allegedly selling marijuana to a classmate Thursday.

Nigel Hastings, 17, of Jackson was arrested Thursday after another student accused him of selling a joint, according to the probable-cause statement.

He was charged with selling marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to a statement released by the Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney's office.
