Jackson wants used Christmas trees. The city is in the second year of a stream bank stabilization project in City Park and wants to again use Christmas trees to aid the program. Last year, 35 Christmas trees were secured to a section of the Hubble Creek streambank and additional trees will be used to advance the work. THe city is asking residents to take their trees to the Jackson Recycling Center, where a special marked area will be set up to receive them. Remove all ornaments, tinsel and other decorations before dropping off the trees. The project is designed to control a severe erosion problem along Hubble Creek.
