The Jackson School Board this week set the district's tax-rate hearing date for 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at the board office, 614 E. Adams St.
The current tax rate is $3.80 per $100 of assessed valuation, the same as the previous school year.
"We are still gathering information, but we do not expect that rate to change," said Wade Bartels, associate superintendent of finance and business operations.
The board also approved bus routes for the 2015-2016 school year and the district's professional development plan.
Matt Lacy, associate superintendent of personnel and instruction, said a committee -- consisting of teachers and administrators from each building -- create a plan that is approved by the school board annually.
"They craft a professional development plan that fits district goals and individual building needs," Lacy said.
Jackson students return to school Thursday, which will be the first time classes are held the district's new East Elementary School. The community is invited to tour the 105,000-square-foot building from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 13.
