The Jackson School Board on Tuesday approved a $58,872 bid for a storm drainage system at the Jackson High School stadium.

Superintendent Ron Anderson said standing water at the stadium needs to be drained. The school also is working to improve handicap accessibility.

ASA Asphalt Inc. in Advance had the lower of two bids, he said, and work will begin in the spring, weather permitting.

The board also approved a library program evaluation after librarians with the district presented how they serve as a resource for classroom teachers and how they incorporate technology to help students.

Matt Lacey, associate superintendent for personnel and instruction, said the library program is reviewed by the board every two years.
