Matt Lacy will become an assistant principal at Jackson High School next year, the Jackson School Board unanimously decided in closed session Tuesday. Lacy replaces Vince Powell, who was named earlier this year as next year's replacement for Rick McClard, who is retiring.

Lacy is a social studies teacher who has worked in the district four years. According to superintendent Dr. Ron Anderson, Lacy has gone through the district's aspiring principals program, and has completed coursework in education administration at Southeast Missouri State University. Six candidates were considered, Anderson said.
