The Jackson School Board approved the tax rate for 2011 to remain the same as the previous year at its Monday night meeting. The Jackson School Board approved the tax rate for 2011 to remain the same as the previous year at its Monday night meeting. Following a public hearing, the rate was set at $3.80 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.

Superintendent Dr. Ron Anderson gave the board updates on construction projects that were recently completed or close to completion in the district. He also told the board enrollment figures seemed to be up from the same time last year.

Assistant superintendent Dr. Rita Fisher told the board she was proud of the continued success the district was continuing to show according to the Annual Performance Reports recently released by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Jackson School District has met all 14 standards in the reports every year since 2006, she said.

Other action

The board approved a motion to enter into a closed session regarding legal purposes, individually identifiable personnel/student records, employment, personnel evaluation, discussions of work product and real estate.
