The city of Jackson's annual Customer Appreciation Day at the Recycling Center is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Jackson residents who bring recyclables to the center at 508 Eastview Court during that time can enjoy refreshments as a way for the city to say "thank you" for participating in the program.

A number of city officials will greet customers and help them unload recyclables until noon. Delta Document Shredding LLC also will provide free shredding services to residents during that time.

The Recycling Center collects cardboard, newspaper, magazines, office paper, junk mail, grocery bags, clear, green and brown glasses, all plastic containers, aluminum, tin and steel cans, batteries and electronic waste.
