Jackson receives safety award

A statewide safety organization has named the City of Jackson as a top promoter of safety in the workplace.

During its recent Corporate Safety Awards presentation in Branson, Mo., the Safety Council of the Ozarks awarded Jackson with an honorable mention award. According to a press release from the public works director Rodney Bollinger, Jackson won the award using its new employee safety policy that is used to evaluate the city's accidents, practices, resources and issues to make recommendations aimed at promoting a safe and healthy working environment.

The Safety Council of the Ozarks is a join membership chapter of the National Safety Council.
