The Jackson Police Department, in conjunction with the Southeast Missouri DWI Task Force, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint sometime before the end of July.
According to a police department news release, 219 people were killed and more than 3,000 injured in drunken-driving accidents in Missouri in 2013.
Jackson police are reminding everyone including a designated driver in celebration plans makes everyone on the road safer. Motorists passing through the checkpoints should experience only a minimal delay.
