A Jackson man and woman remain in the custody of the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department after they were charged Friday with drug offenses and child endangerment.

Mickael Minner, 41, and Charla J. Huston, 40, were arrested Thursday at 1225 Brandom St. in Jackson after officers who were assisting the Missouri Division of Family Services found drug paraphernalia in the home.

The two are charged with possession of a controlled substance, child endangerment and possession of methamphetamine precursors. Minner is also charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

After first seeing a brass pipe with a burnt residue on a living room table, officers obtained a search warrant, according to court documents filed in the case.

Division of Family Services was conducting a home visit to see that the two children in the home had proper sleeping arrangements and enough food.

Jackson officer W.D. Underwood wrote in a probable-cause affidavit that in a room adjacent to a child's room there were bongs in plain view near a television. After a search of the entire room, officers found Xanax, ecstasy, marijuana, pipes, a box of baggies and a digital scale.

Underwood also said in the affidavit more than 140 pills believed to be pseudoephedrine were found and also a "shake and bake" methamphetamine lab. Other items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine were also located in the home.

The two children were removed from the home.

Minner and Huston appeared before a judge Monday for the arraignment.
