Dan Triller, Jackson's city engineer for the past six years, has resigned his post and accepted a position at Delta Asphalt in Cape Girardeau. Dan Triller, Jackson's city engineer for the past six years, has resigned his post and accepted a position at Delta Asphalt in Cape Girardeau.

"My time here was good and I enjoyed the position," Triller said. "The politics were hard to deal with sometimes, but I feel like the city got a lot of things done. I just felt that it was time to move on. I think my new job will give me more opportunities and, of course, better pay."

Triller was noted for his work on stormwater control. He serves on a countywide committee aimed at controlling the Hubble and William creek watersheds.

City administrator Jay Roach said the city is looking for a new engineer and will consider promoting from within the city ranks. "He's a good engineer," Roach said of Triller.

"We wish him well."
