The Jackson Board of Aldermen Monday night approved a list of concrete streets it plans to repair with the first year's worth of road and bridge tax revenue from Cape Girardeau County.
The streets include: Greensferry, Nellie, Bunker, Lakewood, Bainbridge, Sioux, Pawnee, East Main, West Adams, Normandy Lane, Sue, Rebecca, North, Mulberry, Wedgewood, Old Cape, South Shawnee, Shady, Leming, Broadridge, Oak, Briarwood, Clark, Sycamore, Ridge, Litz, Corinne, Apache, Lee, West Jefferson, East, Greenleaf and Drew.
As a result of a court settlement, the county is to pay the city $350,000 in five yearly installments in addition to the roughly $80,000, which is about 25 percent of what Jackson residents pay in property and real estate taxes to the county's road and bridge fund.
That comes to about $150,000 every year for the next five years.
The board also gave public works director Rodney Bollinger to apply for Missouri Department of Transportation funds for the Oak Street Recreational Trail and the East Jackson Boulevard streetscape lighting project.
