The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert at 8 tonight at the band shell in the Jackson City Park. Conductor for the program is Scott Vangilder. Vangilder is band director at Jackson High School. Special guest for the concert will be Julie Walker. Walker, a 1980 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, is currently on the staff at the Jackson R-2 Middle School. She will sing several folk songs and accompany herself on the guitar...

The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert at 8 tonight at the band shell in the Jackson City Park.

Conductor for the program is Scott Vangilder. Vangilder is band director at Jackson High School.

The instrumental portion of the concert includes "Zacatecas," Manatee Overture, a collection of hit songs from Disney movies, Sousa marches and a collection of popular country songs.

The concert is free. It will last approximately one hour.

Entrance to the band shell parking lot is across from McComb's Funeral Home on Rt. D.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
