Firefighters from Jackson, Cape Girardeau and Millersville, responded to a house fire Thursday in Jackson. At 5:35 p.m., the Jackson Fire Department got a call on a house fire on North Russell Street. An older, two-story house caught fire. Mutual aid was called in from Cape Girardeau and Millersville Fire Departments, six trucks responded. According to the Jackson Fire Department, it took firefighters 40 minutes to get the fire under control. Forty percent of the house received heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries.
