A Jackson man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after another car pulled into the path of his Ford in Fruitland.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2000 Peterbilt driven by Phillip E. Ray, 31, of Johnsonville, Ill., was traveling westbound on Highway 177 around 1:15 p.m.
The Peterbilt then pulled into the path of a 2002 Ford driven by Gary N. Whitledge, 66, of Jackson, that was driving northbound on U.S. 61. Whitledge was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Ray was not injured.
