Jackson man dies in Sunday accident on Highway 25

Willard D. Goodson, 81, of Jackson died in a one-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.

Goodson was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado about 3:40 p.m. on Highway 25 near County Road 316. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road way and struck a tree, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Goodson was pronounced dead at the scene by Cape Girardeau County coroner John Clifton.

A passenger Jean Goodson, 80, suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center.
