A Jackson man was killed early Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 51. The accident occurred at 3:40 a.m., half a mile north of Route C in Perry County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. Barry P. A Jackson man was killed early Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 51.

The accident occurred at 3:40 a.m., half a mile north of Route C in Perry County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Barry P. Sander, 48, was traveling northbound in a 2010 Kia Soul, and a 1996 Kenworth truck, driven by Don K. Waltemate, 60, was going south on Highway 51, the report said. The Soul crossed the centerline and struck the Kenworth head on.

Sander was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:30 a.m. by Perry County Coroner Herb Miller.
