A 68-year-old Jackson man has been arrested on suspicion of statutory sodomy and child molestation, according to a news release from the Jackson Police Department.
Raymond J. Clements, 68, was arrested following an investigation that began Feb. 15 into sexual activity with a 9-year-old. Clements confessed to the crime in an interview with a detective, the news release said.
According to Case.net, the Missouri court information database, Clements was charged Wednesday with first-degree child molestation and statutory sodomy.
Clements is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bond.
