The precautionary boil water order enacted Wednesday in Forest Acres subdivision in Jackson was lifted at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Water line maintenance operations to improve water quality began Wednesday morning. Workers restored water service to all customers by noon Wednesday and finished testing the water quality Thursday afternoon. The tests showed no evidence of contamination and the water was determined to be safe for consumption without boiling, according to a news release by Rodney Bollinger, director of public works.
