Jackson's first official Little Free Library is installed, said Jackson Riverside Regional Library director Jeff Trinkle.

The Little Free Library stands west of the Ground-A-Bout coffee shop at 107 E. Adams St. in Jackson.

Ground-A-Bout general manager Serena Schooley said they're excited about the endeavor.

"We're adding a bench soon, so people can sit if they wish," she said.

Schooley said she wants people to know "free" really means free.

"People can take a book or leave a book or both," she said.

Trinkle said he and the Friends of the Library have plans for more installations in Jackson, adding they are looking to expand into other areas in Cape Girardeau, Perry and Scott counties.

"We really appreciate the library board of trustees who gave us a lot of support for this," Trinkle said.

A dedication will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Ground-a-Bout.
