JACKSON HIGH CLASSES HOLD REUNION

Among those helping decorate for the Jackson High School Reunion Association's recent reunion for the classes of 1921 through 1951 were, from left: seated, Lucille Ford, Louise Taylor and Lettie Weiss; and, standing, Marjorie Stearns, Eleanor McGuire, Kathlyn Hahs, Julia Statler, Minnie Compas, Doris Vangilder, Betty Harper, Mildred Piepenbrok, Rada Lou Kamp and Leota Priest.

Coming from all over the United States, over 400 former students of Jackson High School classes 1921 through 1951 attended a reunion held Aug. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.

The event was organized by members of the class of 1941.

Registration began at 5 p.m. with events including a welcome, invocation and singing of the alma mater beginning at 7 p.m.

Prizes were given throughout the night of dancing and socializing.

Members of the class of 1941 organizing the reunion were Kathlyn Hartle Hahs, Rada Lou Miller Kamp, Marjorie Wilcox Stearns, Maxine Ludwig Southard, Vernon Kasten, Eleanor Seabaugh McGuire, Doris Niswonger Vangilder, Wib Bangert, Mildred Peipenbrok Boring, Minnie Sandvoss Compas, Ruby Neumeyer Deneke, Charles Engelhart, Eugene Seabaugh, Earl Kamp, Lucille Taylor Ford, Louise Taylor, Leota Dillingham Priest, Herb Smith, Elaine Reitzel McBride, Betty Jones Harper, Joe Gohn, Gus Preusser and Carlton Weiss.
