JACKSON -- The Jackson Heritage Association will kick off its 1993 season with a membership tea this afternoon at the historic Oliver House.
The membership committee invites not only present and past members, but encourages area residents who are not presently members to attend and learn more about the association. It will be held from 2-4 p.m.
Besides traditional tea and cookies, guests will hear a program by Jim and Judy Sanders about their recent trip to Russia. The Sanders' were the recipients of the 1992 Cruise Party Vacation, sponsored by the heritage group last October. They will be sharing souvenirs and slides of their trip.
The Heritage Association is also offering junior memberships for the first time. The board has opened memberships to 8 to 18 year olds for $3 dues. Those signing up for junior memberships at the tea will be considered charter members and will be given special recognition, said organizers.
Different privileges and tasks will be divided into the fourth through eighth grades, and ninth through 12 grades.
For more information about the tea or for membership information, persons can call Vicki Abernathy at 243-0028 or Trisha Wischmann at 243-7427.
