JACKSON -- Nineteen senior girl scouts and leaders from the Jackson area recently returned from a trip to Texas.
The group began their tour in Dallas. They visited the Science Place Museum, and became part of a taping of a local kid's program which aired last month in Dallas.
The girls next toured Johnson Space Center, which they received a personal guided tour by Dr. Linda Godwin, an astronaut and native of Oak Ridge. She took the girls inside a shuttle simulator used by astronauts on their training to the water tank where they train for space walking. While at NASA, the girls got to see other shuttle crews training for future flights.
The Girl Scouts also toured Galveston.
